Amnesty International, Never forgotten: Lebanon's Missing People
14-04-2011
Thousands of people who disappeared during the bitter civil war that wracked Lebanon from 1975-90 and its aftermath are still missing. Their relatives suffer unrelenting pain and anguish as a result; they remain determined to find out what happened. In this document Amnesty International urges the Lebanese government to take measures to resolve the issue of the disappeared. Steps should include the prompt establishment of an independent national commission mandated to investigate the fates and whereabouts of all missing people.
